After 10 long years the UK channel has brought back Red Dwarf; probably the funniest Sci-Fi sitcom ever made for a 3 part special. Months have been spent in anticipation of this event on various newsboards and forums over the internet.

9pm on Good Friday and people all over the UK are sat down watching Dave (why they called a tv channel that I have no idea) waiting for the theme tune to start. So was is as good as we all wanted it to be? Well, Yes and No..

Red Dwarf was always filmed in front of an audience and this new special was filmed on a close set and what it lacked the most was the live audience reaction that the previous series had. But this was the only downside to an otherwise funny return for Dave, Cat and the gang to our screens.

Saturday night saw the second part of the special air. This was really vintage RD and was very funny. I’ll not spoil it by saying what happened, except to say it spoofed one of the best Sci-Fi movies of all time. I can’t wait for tonight’s final episode.

Here’s to hoping that it gets such a good reception that they decide to bring it back for a new series in the very near future.
